Music-in-Schools![]()
Music-in-Schools brings renowned professional musicians into San Mateo County public elementary schools for assembly performances and workshops. These theme-based programs are coordinated to grade-appropriate curriculum standards. They are designed to captivate students' imagination, improve their listening and playing skills, and prepare them for lifelong appreciation in artistic and cultural activities. Music-in-Schools is the only outside source of chamber music performance and education in the public school districts we serve. There is no cost for students to participate in the Music-in-Schools program.
Master Classes and Coaching
Master Classes and Coaching for secondary school students and musicians at the middle school level focuses on training opportunities for music students. Young musicians receive coaching, encouragement, advice and training from individual musicians and ensembles, including the internationally distinguished Alexander String Quartet. The professional musicians perform, lead master classes, coach individual string players and student ensembles, and teach cross-disciplinary seminars that use chamber music to illuminate history and culture. There is no cost for students to participate in the Master Classes and Coaching program. |
