Music at Kohl Mansion - Chamber Music on the San Francisco Peninsula

Anyone who both enjoys and appreciates Chamber Music will not want to miss out on attending the upcoming U.S. Premiere Benefit Concert and free post-concert reception at Burlingame’s historic Kohl Mansion at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2004.

Why? Because this is where Ms. Geraldine Walther, S. F. Symphony’s principal violist, has chosen to give the U.S. premiere of U.K. composer Robin Holloway’s Trio for clarinet, viola and piano, Op. 70, and Sonata for Viola, Opus 87. Other pieces completing the program are Brahms’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in E-flat, Op. 120 No. 2, and Mozart’s Trio in E-flat Major for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, KV 498, “Kegelstatt.”

Dreams come true for many with this rare event. Ms. Walther and fellow musicians Mr. Ben Freimuth on clarinet, and Mr. Roy Bogas on piano create the U.S. premiere performance of Mr. Holloway. Music at Kohl Mansion’s patrons are honored by a once in a lifetime concertgoing experience and the chance to meet an internationally known composer. Procedes from this concert benefit hundreds of Bay Area school children, families and educators who participate annually in our Music in Schools program, our Family Concert Series, and our Daytime Children’s Concerts at Kohl Mansion each Spring.
