Pianist Robin Sutherland and clarinetist Luis Baez join SF Symphony concertmaster Alexander Barantschik and cellist Peter Wyrick for the Kohl Mansion premiere of Messiaen's gripping masterpiece, written while the composer was interned in a German prison during World War II. The program opens with duos by Kohl Mansion favorite Geraldine Walther with violinist Amy Hiraga, and Barantschik with wife Alena Tsoi.
Dr. Charles Barber will provide a pre-concert lecture starting at 6:15.
