Even among more famous, high achieving string quartets this one is a standout. Exhilaratingly polished performances. Los Angeles Times
We are fortunate to have scheduled this acclaimed Swiss Quartet to open our Sundays + One Chamber Series. The Amati Quartet has studied with the Amadeus Quartet, and is a tight, homogeneous ensemble with a broad sound palette and dynamic range. The groups wide experience with the quartet literature is fueled by regular tours throughout Europe, Asia and North America and includes many world premieres. We are in for a treat when we hear this quartet projecting vibrant involvement and natural spontaneity. Program: Beethovens String Quartet in F Minor, Op. 95, "Serioso"; Janaceks String Quartet No. 1, "Kreuzersonate"; and Schuberts String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 29, No. 1, D 804, "Rosamunde".
