Ives Quartet
with Jerome Simas, clarinet
Pre-Concert Talk at 6 pm

Inspired by the passionate, artistic commitment and unique temperament of American composer Charles Ives (1874-1954), the Ives Quartet has attracted critical enthusiasm for its "practice of reveling in the unfamiliar," championing an eclectic repertoire that combines established masterworks with underappreciated gems, neglected scores of early-twentieth-century America, and specially commissioned new pieces.

Works by Mozart, Becker and Brahms
Jon Nakamatsu Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 7 pm
Pianist Jon Nakamatsu in Recital

One of the most sought-after pianists of his generation, American pianist and 1997 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Jon Nakamatsu draws unanimous praise as a true aristocrat of the keyboard whose playing combines elegance, clarity and electrifying power. A frequent concerto soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and solo recitalist throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, Mr. Nakamatsu's brilliant but unassuming musicianship and eclectic repertoire have made him a beloved concert favorite.
